6061-T6 ALUMINUM / BUTTED TUBING
Our Aluminum frames are exclusively 6061-T6 grade aluminum. This material has an excellent strength to weight ratio and remains incredibly stiff even after the rigorous manufacturing process. This allows us to create frames as strong as steel but at a fraction of the weight. In our butted aluminum tubing, we relieve sections of the tube where less strength is needed. This further lightens your bike without compromising any strength .

HYDROFORMING TUBE SETS
Our aluminum frames utilize this new technology not only to make them look great, but to also make them perform great. Hydroforming allows us to finely tune each tubes shape, both inside and out, to give it the characteristic and strength we need without adding weight from external gussets and welding.

ZERO STACK HEAD TUBES
Identifiable by its hourglass shape, Zero Stack head tube technology allows the upper and lower bearing to be pressed into the head tube creating a lower profile. This translates into a stiffer steering mechanism and quicker reacting front wheel.

3-D FORGED DROP OUT
Through 3D-hot forging technology we are now able to design and create three-dimensional drop out shapes. Unlike milled components, 3D forging yields a denser alloy material structure. This results in improved structural strength.

ULTIMATE RIDE GEOMETRY
Different types of riding demand different fitting bike frames. We design each of our bikes with an intended purpose and a specific geometry to match. Upright and comfortable seating for our urban and city models and more aggressive and performance geometry for our MTB and racing categories.

CARBON STEEL
Bike frames take a lot of abuse. Under normal riding conditions, a bicycle frame is constantly in a state of flex and is being pulled and torqued in multiple directions. For that reason, our steel frames are only made of Carbon Tensile steel. Carbon Tensile is one of the most popular materials in the bike world because of its high strength to cost ratio.

PUNCTURE PROTECTION
Almost all Schwalbe tires have a puncture protection belt, with the exception of special lightweight and sports tires, where this feature is purposely excluded. Even our standard tires are equipped with an effective puncture protection belt made of natural rubber (Puncture Protection). MARATHON tires feature Kevlar® Guard, a remarkably high puncture protection made of nautural rubber and Kevlar fibers. Furthermore, our top of the range tires have highly efficient puncture protection systems, which are specifically adapted to particular requirements, for example RaceGuard, SmartGuard and High Density Guard.

CASING (EPI)

Much more than just a basic quality. The foundation of all Active Line tires is a high-quality 50 EPI carcass. Coarsely woven 20 or 24 EPI carcasses can no longer be found in Schwalbe’s range. The much more densely woven 50 EPI carcass is far more puncture resistant and robust. At the same time the fabric needs less rubber coating and thus has a reduced weight. Naturally every Active Line tire has a puncture protection belt, a balanced rubber compound, plus a functional and attractive tread design. Simply said: Active Line is reliable, brand quality!

TIRE COMPOUND

RETAINS PRESSURE LONGER !
In comparative tests against other tubes (including named brands, own-label brands and “No Name“ products). The result was clear. Over a period of 30 days the other tubes lost nearly twice as much pressure than Schwalbe tubes. Possible reasons: Less butyl content, or lower quality of butyl. Schwalbe is uncompromising in its standards – despite ever increasing world market prices of butyl.

BB30
In 2000 while the industry standard bottom bracket spindle diameter was still 24mm, Cannondale introduced our System Integrated (Si) crankset designed in conjunction with an oversized bottom bracket shell and 30mm spindle, further reducing weight and increasing stiffness. It debuted at the Tour de France.BB30 is a free international standard that both frame and component companies can utilize to offer consumers more choice and better performance. Many other major cycling companies are currently manufacturing bicycles using this standard to improve performance.
